OYAKHILOME HOLDS MUSICAL CONCERT FOR HAITI

LOVEWORLD Convocation Arena on Billigsway, Ikeja will today play host to an array of frontline gospel artistes in the country as part of efforts to raise funds for the victims of a devastating earthquake in Haiti.

Addressing neswmen in Lagos during the week on the church's plan to assist displaced children in that country, Deaconness Mary Yarheire, a member of the Media Publicity Committee of the Hope for Haiti Children Campaign, said the trendy general overseer of the church, Pastor Christ Oyakhilome will lead other gospel musicians in the country at a concert organised to raise money for the kids.

The musical concert will feature uplifting music from artistes like Evang. Kathy, Linda Ray, Buchi, Sinach, Eben, Jadhiel, Frank Edwards, Joe Praise, T-Sharp, Isaiah, and a host of others. One of the highlights of this concert, she said, will be special musical performance by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. There will also be dances and performances from LoveWorld Creative Arts Academy

Tickets for the concert are already being sold and all proceeds from ticket sales would be sent to Haiti to provide much-needed potable water, food, clothing, medicine, etc for the children, many of who have lost their parents, siblings and relatives to the earthquake.

According to the deaconness who was flanked by one of the nation's popular gospel artistes, BUCHI and Pastor Doyin Ikeokwu narrated the horrific ardeal of the Haitians, saying that it behoves on Christians in this part of the world to be our brothers' keepers.

The current situation in the affected areas of Haiti places many children at risk and without adequate care.  A large number of children have been separated from their parents or extended families due to death, injury or the sheer chaos created by the disaster. These children are at risk of malnutrition, disease and death.

It is in response to this call that the Inner City Missions of Christ Embassy (an NGO that caters for under-privileged children and youths) will, today host a musical concert to raise funds for the children of Haiti.
