PRAY AGAINST EARTH TREMOR, ADEBOYE TELLS NIGERIANS
WORRIED by the growing number of earth tremors across the globe and their debilitating effect on human life, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Saturday, urged Nigerians to pray to avert any such occurrence here.

Similarly, Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Okogie has called on Christians in the country to fast and pray fervently during this Lenten season, while offering alms to the poor in the society. Speaking at the special Holy Ghost Congress at the Redemption Camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway which was attended by the Ondo State governor, Mr. Segun Mimiko and the Lagos State deputy governor, Mrs. Adebisi Sosan, the General Overseer who turned 68 recently said the nation is ill-prepared for natural disasters.

According to Pastor Adeboye, who predicted in his 2010 prophecies that there will be shakings all over the world with devastating effects to mankind, pointed out that if care is not taken quickly Nigeria might soon be visited by similar earth-shaking events.

"Unless we pray seriously that of Nigeria is on the way," he said, adding almost immediately "if we pray we can stop it. Are you talking of an earthquake in Nigeria? I didn't say that; but please pray because we don't have the wherewithal to tackle natural disasters."

According to the eminent cleric who is regarded as one of the 50 most influential individuals in the world, every Nigerian irrespective of religion or creed must pray to avert any earthquake or similar occurrences in Nigeria, adding that the nations that have been plagued in recent months are not the worst sinners on earth.

To further underscore the need for fervent prayers, Adeboye also told the crowd that of all the numerous number of RCCG members in Haiti only one of them died in the earthquake while another one sustained an injury on his leg.

Earlier, during the all-night service, the wife of the general overseer, Pastor Folu Adeboye led the mammoth crowd of worshippers in a session of intercessory prayers for the nation especially as our political system is being threatened.
