            How Yar'Adua died — Sources
Indications have emerged that President Umaru Yar'Adua died in the arms of some medical doctors who were flown from Saudi Arabia and Germany in the early hours of Wednesday.

The health of the President was said to have relapsed on Tuesday evening, and got worse in the afternoon.

Before then, the President was said to have found it difficult breathing.

Sensing that danger was lurking around the corner, his wife was said to have raised the alarm, which arrested the attention of staff in the Villa.

Though it was difficult assessing the exact time of his death, sources close to the villa said the president died around 10.45pm.

Among early callers at the Villa were the Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr. Dimeji Bankole; Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Paul Dike; Peoples Democratic Party National Chairman, Chief Vincent Ogbulafor; Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee, Lt.-Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (retd.); Minister of Works, Senator Sanusi Dagash; and Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili.

Security was tight in the Presidential Villa just as State House correspondents were not allowed to go to the complex where he died.

However, journalists were only allowed to get into Aguda House, the official residence of the Acting President Goodluck Jonathan.

It was further learnt that the remains of late Yar'Adua would buried on Thursday (today) at his home town in Katsina State at 2pm. By 8am, the body will be flown to his home state.

Yar'Adua's ill-health since November 23, 2009 had triggered a rash of public debate and division within the Federal Executive Council.

The division in the cabinet forced Jonathan to dissolve it and it was only reconstituted three weeks ago. In doing so, Jonathan dropped key ministers who were said to have constituted themselves into cabal that undermined his authority as Acting President.

Some of the former ministers that lost out in the power game included former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mr. Michael Aondoakaa; former Agriculture and Water Resources Minister, Dr. Sayyadi Abba-Ruma; former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Adamu Aliero.

Also dropped were ex-Petroleum Resources Minister, Dr. Rilwan Lukman; ex-finance minister, Dr. Mansur Muhtar.
